Senior Go Developer for Unified Metadata Service

What you’ll do

Our team delivers the BTP Unified Metadata Service – an innovative solution at the core of SAP’s Intelligent Enterprise. The Unified Metadata Service (UMS) allows discovery and management of Metadata Graphs at scale based on an open collaboration model between Metadata Providers and Metadata Consumers. Metadata Providers can onboard new Metadata Types via desired-state-based resource definitions which will automatically result in auto-generation of the respective management and discovery interfaces in UMS. Metadata Providers can then build plug-ins that can write instances of the respective Metadata Types into UMS. The Metadata Instances of these Metadata Types form an inter-connected graph of data. This allows Metadata Consumers to discover the Metadata instance graphs via the rich search capabilities of the service. The concept of Metadata Visibilities allows for defining flexible access policies as to which consumers can access what information.

The Unified Metadata Service is also becoming a key building block for the

Apeiro Reference Architecture (https://apeirora.eu/) for Unified Data and Metadata Management and will be open-sourced in 2025 so that other EU companies, participating in Apeiro, can also contribute.

Our team also builds API first backbone aggregation services that collect metadata about the customer landscape systems and application integrations from various providers, exposes this metadata via APIs and UIs for landscape discovery and a smart framework for applications to exchange security configurations automatically. The Role

We are looking for a Senior Developer to join us and help building full-stack services for the Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack services architected for speed, security, resilience, and reliability in distributed environment, Design and implement cloud-native backend APIs running in Kubernetes
• Work with cutting-edge tech stack to develop state-of-the-art solutions, embracing technologies provided by cloud hyperscalers, open-source community, and SAP
• Participate in all phases of the software services development, from design discussions, implementation, testing, to deployment and operations

What you bring

• University education in computer science, software engineering or similar
• 3+ years of professional experience
• Strong knowledge in at least one of: Go, Java, C/C++, C# or Node.js. Go experience is a definite advantage
• Experience in web app development, cloud service development
• Experience with SQL and relational databases
• Bash scripting knowledge is an advantage[AD3]
• Experience with computer networks (HTTP, TCP and other protocols)
• Curiosity and willingness to quickly learn new technologies, concepts and tools
• Good interpersonal skills and fluency in English: collaboration in an international environment will be a regular part of your job.
