Project Consultant - Development

Technology & Innovation (T&I) is responsible for SAP’s overall platform and technology development such as SAP Cloud Platform and SAP HANA. In addition, T&I drives the incubation and adoption of intelligent technologies and business services like SAP Analytics Cloud, Data Warehouse Cloud, SAP Machine Learning, Blockchain and SAP Data Intelligence across SAP’s product portfolio. The T&I board area is also in charge of SAP’s global innovation agenda and builds new business model- and market driven innovations to help customers realize the most business value.

What you´ll do:

• Be accountable for driving and implementing complex, large scale, high risk, strategic projects
• Define or refine project scope and objectives
• Drive a program of projects
• Set framework, standards and education program for the project management in the organization unit
• Delegate tasks and communicate expected outcomes to teams and individual experts
• Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan in short, mid and long-term, set milestone targets and adhere to deadlines
• Track ongoing project status, adjust plans as needed, identify and manage project risks, facilitate escalations and provide updates to stakeholders
• Identify and remove impediments that block a team’s ability to meet project objectives
• Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
• Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
• Serve as a point of contact for teams to ensure team actions remain in synergy
• Draft, communicate and disseminate updates, policies, procedures and best practices
• Design and create presentation materials that are shared with stakeholders and senior management
• Own overall project communications

What you bring:

For our growing T&I Cloud Operations team, we are looking for a Project Manager to lead our program in Sofia. You will have the opportunity to work on some of SAP’s strategic projects, in a fast-paced cross-location environment. In your role, you will provide operational and management support across business units and product initiatives and support the implementation of these projects.

• 3+ years of professional experience in project management or related roles
• University education in relevant subject
• Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies and best practices
• Demonstrated success independently managing workload and priorities with limited oversight
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
• Outstanding organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and fluency in English (verbal, presentation, written), with a high degree of attention to detail
• Ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven experience working with teams across multiple organizations (across locations a plus)
• Ability to multi-task and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure
• Excellent team player who can work with virtual, global, and cross-functional teams, friendly and approachable
• Nice to have relevant certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or PRINCE2 Practitioner

Meet your team

Our T&I Cloud Operations team, with locations in Bangalore, Sofia, Walldorf, Berlin, Vancouver and Shanghai, is responsible for the operations of all T&I cloud services delivered to our internal and external customers. This includes the operations of SAP Business Technology Platform. We ensure the 7/24 incident process, drive improvements via our problem management process, create transparency via our reporting’s, meetings and communication channels and support development teams with coordination on change management and cloud operation compliance topics.
