Software Developer in SAP Business Technology Platform Big Data Team

What you`ll do:

We are looking for cloud developers with expertise or interest in distributed systems, big data scenarios, and container technology, enjoying collaborating in an agile team setup. Our big data components play an increasing role in strategic architectures for SAP's business-critical and highly available solutions. In this role, you will contribute to laying the foundation for these strategic goals.

The Role:

As a Cloud Developer, you will:

• Develop the automation of provisioning and operation of the Big Data components in SAP Business Technology Platform
• Work with different hyperscale environments such as AWS, GCP, Azure and Alibaba Cloud
• Enable the Big Data portfolio on Converged Cloud
• Apply proven software methodology to cloud operation problems
• Follow the SRE methodology to provide resilient and highly available big data services
• This role requires on-call duties outside of working hours

You will be successful in this role if you have an intrinsic interest in cloud-native, distributed systems with all its facets from design, improvement, and observability until running in production at scale.

What you bring:

• University degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or relevant experience
• Hands-on experience in cloud computing, distributed systems, Big Data, or container technologies
• Proficiency in at least one of the following: Python, GO, Bash
• Solid confidence working within Unix / Linux shell environments
• IaaS experience with one of AWS, Azure, GCP
• Experience in working with Open Stack is beneficial
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience and willingness to work in a project set up following agile principles and practices
• Fluency in English
• Professional work experience of at least 2 years
