Development or DevOps Expert for Cloud Foundry Runtime and Core

The Role

If you are interested in cloud development and want to have impact, this is the job for you. We are looking for Software Architect to join our Cloud Foundry Runtime team. As such you will be working with multiple teams in the organization to help solve complex design and architecture issues in the area of container management of cf applications, Cloud Foundry buildpacks, scalability and other projects that will arise.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for creating, maintaining, and communicating vision for technical evolution of Cloud Foundry components in scope
• Ensure architectural integrity of solutions
• Lead or participate in research and Proof of Concept activities
• Deliver quality technical/technology recommendations, proposals, and documentations
• Keep track of new advances in internal technology areas and propose improvements
• Mentor and inspire Scrum teams
• Influence to improve E2E development, testing and operational excellence practices
• Collaborate with key stakeholders (internal & external) and share / sell the solution that is being proposed
• Contribute with task, ideas and estimates to planning process
• Responsible to produce technical designs and communicate them to development team and enable efficient build of the solutions
• Participate in reviews of software engineers’ code to deliver high quality solutions
• Provide technical training within the team to ensure continuous knowledge growth

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience as Software Architect or Senior Software Engineer
• Experience with and an appreciation of the benefits of software engineering practices and design such as: coding standards, agile (scrum) methodologies and test-driven development
• Knowledge in Microservices & SaaS architecture, Web Services/SOA Connectivity
• Proficient in Java (Client-side, Server-side, Security APIs, Web development, Spring/MVC/Spring Boot) or JavaScript and Node.js as well as other software technologies including Rest/JSON, SOAP/XML, Oracle, Postgres, Single Sign-On (SSO), HTML5, Performance Tuning/Profiling, Testing frameworks
• Excellent communication, negotiations, presentation, organizational, interpersonal, programming, troubleshooting, analytical & problem-solving skills
• Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-moving and challenging environment

The Following Skills Will Be Considered An Advantage

• Experience in designing solutions for high performance, scalability and reliability
• Knowledge/experience in working and fine-tuning of Tomcat, TomEE
• Knowledge/experience in development with one or more of Go, Ruby, Python programing languages
• Knowledge/experience in build engineering, code quality and continuous delivery using technologies like K8S, OpenShift, Docker, Gradle, Kafka, Prometheus, Grafana, Postgre, Oracle, etc.
