Cloud DevOps Engineer

The development center of SAP in Bulgaria plays a key role in the defining and developing of the SAP Business Technology Platform. What you'll do:

• Ensuring the smooth operation of our technology infrastructure while also supporting various business functions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve our development, deployment, and operational processes, as well as provide administrative support to the management team.
• Manage and maintain our platform with Guest OS, Virtual machines, Containers and Services running on Converged Cloud, including deployment pipelines, monitoring systems, and production environments.
• Help to build, and operate the Central Infrastructure Services for Continuous Integration, Delivery and Continuous Testing including automation with Chef, Ansible or Terraform.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect our systems and data. Troubleshoot and resolve platform and application-related issues.
• Be part of an agile team running in Kanban mode, managing projects using Kanban methodology including Daily Stand-ups, Replenishment and Backlog Planning, Retrospectives and Reviews. Developing and maintaining documentation in Confluence and SharePoint.
• Work together and provide support to various global teams like network team, security team and other related stakeholders. Assist with project documentation, including project plans, presentations, and status reports.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree or similar in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, with understanding of software development and deployment processes.
• 2+ years of Linux system administration required. Suse knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency with scripting languages (Bash, Python, Golang) or experience with automation tools such as Chef, Terraform or Ansible. Proficient in using version control mechanisms like Git, Confluence.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in using project management tools like Jira and Excel, Microsoft Project.
• Understanding of Incident, Change and Service Management in an Enterprise Environment. Understanding of ticketing systems like ServiceNow platform, including IT Service Management.
• Participate in On-Duty and On-Call setup.

The System & Infrastructure DevOps team is part of the Platform & Services Department in the Global Cloud Infrastructure and Delivery organization. We are responsible for the system landscape operation across SAP’s global data centers, which are utilized by SAP’s cloud businesses like Business Technology Platform. Our team works closely with other teams within the Global Cloud Services organization to deliver high quality and high availability including a 24x7 operation globally.
